Best Slim Fit Lab Coats For Women

This Lab Coat For Women Is Going To Be Your New Favorite Article Of Clothing

What capes are to superheroes, is what the lab coat is to physicians. You want a white coat that is a reflection of you, that shows your colleagues and patients that you take yourself seriously. It’s more than just a piece of clothing – it’s a symbol of what you’ve accomplished and how far you’ve come.

Right now we’re loving the Rosalyn Lab Coat and the Vera G. lab coat, both from scrubs and lab coats company Medelita, as our top picks for modern professional style…in lab coat form!

Rosalyn Slim Fit Women’s Lab Coat

This is a very new style, just released last month, and you can tell just by looking at it that it is finely tailored down to the clean finish neckline. They also added a new feature, bracelet-length sleeves with buttons so you can roll the sleeves up to your elbow, for improved functionality. This is the most fitted women’s lab coat that Medelita makes, but the improved sizing and tailoring keeps in flattering and professional. Check out the Rosalyn Slim Fit Women’s Lab Coat

Vera G. Slim Fit Women’s Lab Coat

The Vera G. is an old favorite of ours, and it continues to be one of Medelita’s most popular coats. Since its initial release a few years ago they’ve made some upgrades to the style. But the envelope collar of this lab coat is what really made us fall in love, and the little details are what makes all the difference. Check out the Vera G. Slim Fit Women’s Lab Coat

Power Dressing For Female Clinicians

If you’re a female leader in medicine (or are heading down that path) there will be times when you need to step up your style to convey the appearance of the powerful, take-charge woman that you are!

So the next time you have an interview, presentation, important meeting or even just are having a professional headshot taken, follow these basic guidelines so that you can present yourself as a polished, skilled leader.

Skirt suit or pants suit

You can’t go wrong with a business professional skirt/pants suit, as long as it fits you properly. This is an opportunity to let your personal style show a bit more, and it can make a powerful statement if you go outside the box of traditional colors (think black, navy, grey) to opt for a bolder, more unique color like a burnt ochre, or deep plum – you can even play around with unexpected patterns like plaid or stripes, as long as the color palette is muted and still professional.

Crisp white button down shirt

If you don’t have this in your wardrobe already, bite the bullet and get one. This is not only perfect for professional settings, but it’s an extremely versatile piece that you will find dozens of opportunities to wear throughout the year.

My recommendation for purchasing a button down shirt is to not necessarily go for the most expensive or the cheapest option. You should shop for a middle-of-the-range shirt that isn’t absurdly priced, but is still made with quality materials, and take it to a professional tailor to have it fitted perfectly to your body. This simple step will make it look like the most expensive shirt you own!

Low heels or pumps

You should have at least one pair of nice dress pumps in your closet, but I would recommend against any heels higher than 3 inches. For one, they aren’t as comfortable, no matter how much you might relate to Sarah Jessica Parker’s affinity for sky-high heels. Secondly, super high heels can be distracting and don’t look as professional as a more modest heel.

Tailored lab coat with name & title embroidery

You worked hard for your credentials, so show them off by having them embroidered on your lab coat. And while you’re at it, get a lab coat that actually fits you – not the cheap, semi-see-through, unisex lab coats you might be used to. Even if you don’t think you’ll wear it in a clinical setting, you should have at least one professional tailored lab coat that will make you look polished.

Medelita offers quite a range of different tailored lab coats for female professionals, and they offer in-house embroidery services so that you can skip the step of taking it to a separate embroidery studio to have your name and title added.

A New And Improved Fit For Two Popular Women’s Lab Coats

Last week popular designer lab coat company Medelita released the new versions of two of its most popular lab coats for women.

The new versions of the Callia and Miranda B. lab coats include the same features as the old ones, but with an improved fit.

Miranda B. Lab Coat

Flattering Women Lab Coat Miranda B

The design features for the Miranda B. include a peaked lapel, defined waist and skirted back, and lower pockets that create a slimming effect. This is one of the most feminine and flattering lab coats available, and with the improved fit it is now better than ever.

The new fit changes are a better-fitting waist, improved balance in how it drapes over the shoulders and neck, and an overall more flattering silhouette.

Check out the Miranda B. lab coat.

Callia M. Lab Coat

Flattering Womens Lab Coat Callia M

The Callia has been upgraded to fit better as well. With the new fit, this is now a true slim-fit lab coat, meaning it is slightly more fitted than other traditional styles, while still professional and not overly fitted.

This lab coat has very feminine scalloped lapels and patch pockets that can fit a small tablet and anything else you may need to carry. It also features a back waist belt with two buttons, making it stylish and classic.

Pockets On Women’s Lab Coats

A decade ago, this headline would not have existed because there existed no lab coats just for women! We’ve come a long way since then, and today there are quite a few different non-unisex options for female professionals working in healthcare.

Choosing a lab coat with pockets appropriate for you is an important factor while shopping for your lab coat, though there are really only two main options.

The first, which you can see here with the Callia M. lab coat from Medelita, is a patch pocket. It looks like a square or rectangle patch that is large enough to fit a small tablet and notebooks, in addition to anything else you need to carry.

Callia Patch Pocket

The other option is a pocket more like what you would see on a blazer-style jacket. You can see this on the Miranda B. lab coat from Medelita. Though perhaps not as functional since you probably can’t fit an iPad in these pockets, the slanted angle creates a flattering silhouette by slimming with vertical seams.

Lab Coats For Women Show A History Of Strong Females In Medicine

In a traditionally male-dominated field, women are stepping up more than ever to join the medical community as physicians, PAs, nurses, and specialists. These women in medicine are inspirational and demonstrate qualities that make them excellent role models.

Innovative medical apparel brand Medelita has honored the strength and tenacity of modern women in medicine by creating a line of professional lab coats for women clinicians that have been named after strong females who have paved the way for women in medical history.

Emma W Lab Coat

The Emma W. lab coat is named after Emma Willits, the third woman to specialize in surgery in the United States who played an important role in the development of the Children’s Hospital in San Francisco.

Vera G Lab Coat

The Vera G. lab coat is named after Vera Gedroitz, the first female surgeon in Russia and one of the first female professors of surgery in the world.

Women’s Lab Coats: Straight Hem Or Curved Hem?

Looking at these two lab coats, it’s hard to decide which hemline I like better. These defining features are one of the things that make it worth it to spend a little extra on a designer lab coat, and it’s even better that there now exist many styles of lab coats for women so that you really can decide on a lab coat that better suits your personal style.

callia

As you can see, the Callia lab coat is infused with feminine elements – check out the slight curve in the hemline and the beautiful rounded collar. Simple, elegant, and flattering – but still professional!

Flattering Feminine Lab Coat

The Vera G. has a modern style and is still professional.

I’m also a big fan of the Vera G. lab coat, which is crisp and polished with straight lines and a modern cut. It’s equally flattering and stylish as the Callia, but with a slightly edgier look.

I give up – it’s impossible to decide which one I like better! At the end of the day, your choice of lab coat style should be one that reflects your own personal and professional style. Luckily, there are a lot of options for you to choose from as a woman in medicine.

Cute Lab Coat For Women

My Favorite Lab Coat For Female Physicians, Nurses, and PAs

There are many lab coats today for women in medicine – a big change from the scant options available 8 years ago. It’s great for female healthcare professionals to have the option to choose a professional white lab coat that is figure-flattering and shows off your personal style.

There are classic options for women in medicine who prefer the more traditional look of a lab coat – no frills, just a high quality professional white coat, but for women. However I personally prefer a more modern style: the Vera G. lab coat from Medelita.

Flattering Feminine Lab Coat

The Vera G. has a modern style and is still professional.

Named for the first female surgeon in Russia, Vera Gedroiz, the Vera G. lab coat is exceptionally flattering for women with a lean, athletic figure. It is a slim-cut lab coat; the slim fit is great because it skims over your body without being clingy, tight, or uncomfortable. It’s just incredibly flattering and gives you more confidence while making your rounds, consulting with patients, or even just interacting with your colleagues at an event or medical conference.

What I love most about the Vera G. is the sleek construction. It features a beautiful envelope collar, a super professional and modern looking detail which I’ve hardly found on a blazer or suit jacket, much less a medical lab coat.

Belted Lab Coats For Stylish Female Physicians

Say good-bye to frumpy, boxy, unisex lab coats made of 1-ply polyester. You’ve worked too hard, for too many years, to accept the subpar quality and fit of medical uniforms. Businesswomen get to wear fitted skirt suits or pants suits to work, yet medical professionals are forced to wear what is essentially, a glorified smock.

Instead, choose a lab coat that emphasizes your feminine shape. The Emma W. lab coat from Medelita was designed specifically for women working in the medical field. It features a shawl collar, which is very unique for a woman’s lab coat, but the best feature if the back belt that creates a graceful silhouette. The back belt on this lab coat is a visually pleasing detail that draws the eye to the waist, which is the narrowest part of your body.

Back Belt Lab Coat For Women

The back belt creates a graceful hourglass shape.

You might be thinking that an hourglass shape is not professional for the workplace, but in this case it is. The belt on this lab coat isn’t flashy or tacky or tasteless – it’s very refined, and the shaping is subtle, but oh-so-elegant. This is simply a lab coat that fits you well, because it was made to flow beautifully over the curves of real women, out there working every day, and give you the ability to do that work with confidence.

Elegant Details On Sophisticated Lab Coats

With all the beautiful details being added to today’s modern and contemporary lab coat styles, it’s difficult to decide on a favorite design. Lab coats for women didn’t even exist until the last decade, and today there are a number of different designs to choose from in the world of medical uniforms.

These new collections of lab coats are special because every coat is so unique. They truly bring the elegance of a tailored suit or blazer, giving you a professional look that really speaks to the skill level and professionalism of the physicians who wear them.

When I first saw the envelope collar of the Vera G. lab coat from Medelita, I immediately noticed the craftsmanship and detail that went into this unique design feature. I also noticed the impeccable sewing and construction of the coat – as you can see from the photo below, the seams of this exceptional lab coat are double reinforced. Elegant, tasteful, and functional. Does it get any better than that?Lab Coat Collar Detail

The Most Versatile Lab Coat In The World

As many physicians can attest, the selection of white coats available has been paltry, at best, until recently. Fashionable, high-quality lab coats are quickly becoming the standard for medical uniforms, as they display the prestige and competence that you spent all those years earning during your medical training.

In this sartorial shift, physicians and clinicians are expected by patients to present a polished and professional appearance. Studies have actually shown that patients have higher levels of trust in their physicians when they dress professionally and in a nice white lab coat.

Medical apparel innovator Medelita has developed their White Coat Collection, a stunning presentation of white coats that come in multiple styles for both men and women. These styles are subtly different and immaculately constructed, making them perfect to display your personal style and flattering for any body type.

The Ellody lab coat is perfect for petite women, and it comes in sizes ranging from 00 to 14.

Laennec Lab Coat

For men, the Laennec lab coat fits like a well-tailored blazer and has an ergonomic design for you to move freely.

E. Wilson Lab Coat For Men

But the European fit of the E. Wilson lab coat might appeal more to you if you prefer a slim yet elegant and tasteful fit for the modern physician.
